Photinia

Photinia fras. 'Camilvy'

Photinia, also called 'Christmas berry', is an evergreen shrub with ornamental value thanks to the red corymbs appearing several times a year. Several varieties have been selected in the course of the years. One of these is Photinia fraseri 'Camilvy' which we invented ourselves. The name is derived from those of Peter van Lieshout's daughters: Camily and Ilvy.

This variety distinguishes itself by a striking blood red colour of the young shoots and rather strongly undulating leaves. Photinia has white blooms and can bear apple-shaped fruits, but that is not the ornamental value for which a Photinia is used.
